music, art and dark rainy streets

The streets of London are cramped, even when it's pissing down buckets!

I bought these today:
The Very Best of the Pogues
> &

Kylie Minogue, Body Language ^

Now I'm done buying CDs for a little while. Kath says that with the Kylie album, I'm 'beyond help', well she's watching a Robbie Williams marathon on VH1 and won't let me change the channel. Does that make any sense??? bah!!!

I went to the National Gallery & The British Museum today.

I really loved these paintings at the National Gallery...
1.2.
1. An Allegory with Venus & Cupid by Bronzino. It's semi-erotic yet very sweet and innocent at the same time. it was painted int he 1500's and that old man is father time.
2. the very famous Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh. Yellow represented friendship and hope to him, so after he painted this, he put it up in his guest room so his friends would see it when they came to visit.

I also saw a bunch of lovely Monet, Pissarro, and Renoir <333 very nice.

that's all for now. Now I'm off to Soho! <333

It's ok. I like Kylie also. Really. I love the British Museum. We could walk to it from our hotel when we stayed there 2 years ago. Is it still free? That Bronzine painting...hmmm..has alot going on. Interesting

Yeah, the British Museum is still free! I went there to see Cleopatra's mummy one more time but they've now taken it out because I can't find it anymore. Probably a good thing because I thought it was a bit wrong for them to display people that way...*shrug*
Re: The Bronzino painting. I'm not usually into old paintings, I'm more of a modern art fan, but seeing that in person (it's pretty big) was just really cool.
& yay for liking Kylie!
