I got a flat!! It's really nice and I have a lot of space! It's a 20 minute walk from the city centre and a 5 minute walk from Heather's! I have a spectacular view of the city of Dublin! There's a football field nearby and as i was unpacking my things I could here that they were playing the Dandy Warhols "Bohemian Like You" in the stadium and the crowd was chanting "WOO WOO WOOOO!" along with the music. hehehe...Heather was helping me move in and she told me that was a very good omen. I agree. There's also a Tesco's a 2 minute walk from me!! yay! I love Tesco's. Last night I got a shake from Eddie Rocket's American Diner which is next door to Tesco's. It was really weird being in there. It looks a lot like the Ruttle's 50's diners they have in southern Minnesota! Heather said it's a great place to go when you're homesick because it's so full of 1950's Americana.

My flatmates are really nice. They are:
Veronique- 25, from Normandy France. Also lived in London before she came here. Very sweet..she walked me here to the internet cafe so I didn't get lost. *L*
Fab- 27, from "300km east of Rome". Still learning English so I have to point to things when I talk to him. He's seems very sweet.
Danny- 28, from central Spain. Is also still learning English but knows more than Fab. When I first saw him I thought he looked liked Danny from Supergrass! but when I saw him again, no, he doesn't at all. :p

So I'm the baby of the flat by a couple years....we're all here to work in Dublin and all looking for jobs. As I said, they all seem nice so far.

The building is actually a old mill that they converted into flats. It's also right on the canal so when I walk out the building's front door, right there there's water and the air is always fresh. It's lovely.

I still miss London horribly....I have such a love/hate relationship with that city. I either adore it way too much but sometimes when I'm there I need to leave it. Well, I have to go back there because well, my eventual flight to the States (who knows when they will be) leaves from there! I also want to go there a couple other times. hopefully

Now to find a job....

That's so awesome. I could never imagine traveling around a foreign country (to the soundtrack of the Dandies), moving to a new flat without a plan of work or anything. I'm a planner. I wish I could be more of a gypsy, like you or PJ Harvey. Good luck!

THank you. I know it's scary!! I'm also a planner, but I have money saved up and uni just started to there's a surplus of jobs, apparently...besides, the lease on my flat goes week to week, so if I need to move out, just a week's notice and I'm out. so, that's good. I could never sign a long-term lease w/o a job!! I'd freak out!
