this is for the americans: what is Bush's approval rating!?!?!

I talked to a liberal friend of mine saying that his approval rating is rising, then I talked to a conversative friend (yes, I have one *L*) saying that "nobody likes him"....I hope to god it's the latter, but now I'm confused.

so, if anybody could set me straight on this, that'd be appreciated. I cannot stand Bush, so I'm scared about him getting re-elected if he is "popular". dear god, no. I don't want him to have power for yet another 4 years....

I talked to Becky yesterday and I requested a few select items from the States: Canvas' from Michaels' (they're cheaper. One canvas from Papershare is £11! fuck that..), Kraft Mac'n'Cheese, Oreos, NyQuil and Chocolate Chip Cookies from Lunds!

By the way, I bought Manic Street Preachers: Lipstick Traces this morning at the HMV on Oxford St. So v. fab. So far my fav's are "Judge Yr'self", "Been a Son" (Nirvana cover), and this pretty softer version of "Spectators of Suicide".

I grew up Republican and I didn't really think about it until a friend of mine sat me down and just explained all her beliefs to me (she's green party) and she completely enlightened me on everything. That was a long time ago, I still thank her for that. ;)

I'm not into any party btw, but yeah, I know people who voted for Bush (my dad) and he still doesn't regret it as far as I know. :/

that's weird to me, cause both my parents are pretty liberal. My mom is hard core green, and my dad doesn't share his political views with people but i know he's pretty liberal also. Congrats for being open minded! I know it's hard for alot of people I know to even listen to people with diferent views.
I think i'd be weird to have parents who had such different beliefs as me.

well I cope with parents (or parent) with different views. He grew up in a different era and has had a completely different life than me, that's all.

I find it odd that so little people are open minded in this world, why deny yourself other opinions!?!?!?! don't get it ;)

I totaly agree! My math teacher in h.s. had a saying which i can't remember word for word, but was something like, 'if you can't get someone to hear your point of view within the first 5 minnutes of a conversation, they will never hear your opinion on the issue' or something like that. of course in order for this to be true, the person trying to explain their point of view needs to be polite and open minded as well.

I think what your h.s. teacher said is right. and that's also sad because there's very few people you can talk to about serious topics and they don't change their mind in the first 5 minutes. :/ and you're right about the other person being open minded and polite.
When my friend explained her political beliefs to me and made me change my views she was really polite and listened to everything I had to say, and I think that played a major role in accepting her beliefs as well.
