striving to be the outcasts
Last night I watched the film, "Barberella". oh my god..*laughs* it was so horrible...when they said "Duran Duran" I started singing "Her name is Riooo, and she dances on the sandsss..." hahahahah...I couldn't help it.
I got into a conversation with my roomate last night about how people who are outcasted by mainstream society seem to be the same people who end up being idolized.
One good example is Oscar Wilde. He was so rejected by society that it even sent him to prison. But now, he's idolized by millions for being exactly the person he was and wanted to be.
It's like people are scared of being different or trying to break from the norm so much, that they put down those who have their own freedom to be whatever that want to be.
Anyway, it was a good conversation. Just thought I'd share that with all of you.
So, my advice is, be who you want to be!! and dont' let anybody tell you any different :)
Tonight's film: Apocalypse Now. I can't wait :) I've been anticipating this for quite awhile now.
